Hello!
Can anyone tell the difference between Magic Leap Core OS and Lumin OS?
Cheers, Kegom
Hi @kegom,
The Magic Leap 2 is an Android Open Source Project (AOSP) device.
Lumin OS refers to Magic Leap's adaptation of AOSP for our device. It uses the Lumin SDK.
Best,
El
I know that, but what is the Magic Leap Core OS? Where can i download it?
Is the Lumin OS is an AOSP based operating system that is pre-installed to Magic Leap 2?
Is the Lumin SDK fork and/or alterantive for the Android SDK?
Lumin SDK and Lumin OS was specific for Magic Leap 1, Magic Leap OS is the AOSP based OS used on Magic Leap 2. The OS can be downloaded and installed from the Magic Leap Hub.
Okay, so Lumin OS and SDK are now obsolete?
Magic Leap 2 run your own Android distro called Magic Leap OS? What is the Magic Leap Core OS then?
Correct and that is just a typo it’s supposed to say Magic Leap OS.
