Hello everyone,
I've been working with the Magic Leap 2 headset for over a year without any issues. However, last week I updated the OS from version 1.7 to 1.9. It worked fine for a couple of days, but then it suddenly stopped turning on and got stuck in a reboot loop. There was no physical impact or damage, as I have always treated the hardware with great care.
I’ve tried everything I can think of to fix the issue, including resetting the device, reinstalling the OS (using both the old and the new hub, the command line, different versions of the OS, and even performing a factory reset). In all cases, the process reports a successful outcome, but the device only starts up after several tens of minutes of looping reboots. When it does finally start, it is unstable, losing tracking and continuously rebooting whenever it’s asked to perform any operation (e.g., connecting to a PC, head movement, starting an application).
It is impossible to deploy any application or even use the sample applications without the device rebooting. I've checked the logs, but they don’t show any errors until the reboot occurs. Sometimes the device starts, but nothing appears (I can see the green light on the compute pack), and then it restarts shortly after. The video seems to work, as I can see the logo during reboot, and sometimes the menu appears briefly before another reboot. The battery holds a charge, but occasionally (in a non-repeatable manner), the device won’t turn on unless it's connected to a power supply. Afterward, if I connect it to the PC, it restarts again.
I have a critical project deadline in two months, and my entire project depends on this device. Unfortunately, the retailer I bought it from last year no longer sells this product.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Jasmine
