Hi, I was looking at Grace's latest video but I understand from the video this is only to be used when the device does not boot or an update failed. Why not call it 'recovery boot' or 'recovery mode'?

There actually is also a recovery mode with a different LED sequence.
Both Fastboot protocol and Recovery Mode are more or less Android concepts and not Magic Leap specific.
And yes, you are generally correct. For most devs and users, both Fastboot and Recovery Mode typically only come up when trying to recover from a failed device flash attempt.
