ssue with Mirrored .fbx Models in Model Viewer on Magic Leap 2

Hello,

I hope everyone is doing well!

We’re facing a minor issue with the Model Viewer application on Magic Leap 2 (not related to hardware). When we load an .fbx model into the application and spawn it in the environment, the object appears mirrored.

The version of the operating system we’re using is 1.0.8.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a solution or perhaps a setting on Magic Leap 2, especially related to the camera, that could fix this?

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Hi @fabrizio.sangiorgi,

Welcome to the Magic Leap 2 Forums. We are grateful to have you engaging with us.

On what axis is the model mirrored on? Local X, Y or Z axis?

Hello, sorry for the late reply.

I use Blender to export models in FBX or OBJ format. When I open the exported model in any 3D software, it appears correct. However, when I import the same model into Model Viewer, it appears mirrored along the Z-axis (based on Blender’s coordinate system).

According to Unity’s coordinate system, the mirroring happens along the Y-axis.

Could anyone help me understand why this happens and how to prevent it?

Thanks in advance!
