Is fast Roaming supported by ML2? Been doing fair amount of network testing and the ML2 just seems to switch much slower than all over mobile devices on the network I've been using.
I've done several setups with all wired APs to all wireless Aps. Sometimes everything switches seamlessly. Other times it drops connection for 4-6 secs while switching APs. I have been struggling to understand why.
Thanks
We do not currently support the Fast Roaming Standard but if you provide some additional information such as OS version, your environment and APs that your are using I can send your feedback to the voice of customer team.
We are using ML OS 1.8.
We are testing in Many different environments but for my tests in our office we are using Curtains as walls in a regular Office Building. 4k SqFt
We are doing tests with Many different wifi Setups.
- Nighthawks and extenders
- 2 Ruckus' with a wired backhaul.
- Ubiquity Dream Machine SE + wired U6 Pro aps
- Unifi Dream Machine (UDR) plus Wired U6 Pro Aps
- UDR + Unifi Express Wireless Aps
We've tried all of these what we notice is that they(ML2) have a hard time switching between APs in any of these setups. When they do they are always the slowest of all our devices to do so. Sometimes it works flawlessly. Sometimes it drops for 4-6 seconds and sometimes it just drops and never regains.
I need to find a solution where it doesn't drop at all. It can be slow to switch but it needs to switch so that it doesn't cause interruption with a Host PC.

Thank you for that detailed information. I will forward your request to the voice of customer team.
In the meantime, you can try to use an external hotspot that can connect directly to the magic Leap 2. I will keep you posted on any new information. Note the fix for this might take some time since it may require additional driver support or be a hardware limitation.
