Remote Render Viewer Showing "Running..." text at top left corner

Hello,

I am experiencing a minor issue with the remote rendering application where the top left corner of the HMD keeps rendering a “Running…” text when the Remote Rendering Viewer is open. This occurs for the verify-app.exe file that comes with the Windrunner installation and not just for my own Unity application. Is there any way to remove this “Running…” text? Thanks!

I’m using Windrunner v1.16.93 as well as the corresponding Remote Rendering Viewer on my ML2. Everything else runs fine and the remote rendering works properly.

  • Host OS Windows
  • OpenXR-compliant engine used Unity

Unfortunately, There is no method to do this. This was a requirement from a security point of view since the device is streaming data to a remote device. While this feature is not on our roadmap, I have shared your feedback with the voice of customer team.

Hi,

Ah I see. That’s unfortunate. I’m guessing the Running text is hardcoded into the Remote Viewer Application then. Thank you for the response anyway. If there’s any possibility to recompile the remote viewer application without the text, please let me know

For context, I’m a researcher at NYU working on modeling AR content visibility in dynamic luminance environments, so we’ve found that synchronizing external display content driven by a host computer to the AR HMD content can be most easily achieved by simply having the host computer drive both display buffers. Beyond this easier option we’re faced with having to develop two standalone applications with some sort of netcode to communicate with each other.

Thank you!

Cheers,
Monde
