Disabling eye tracking filtering?

Hi all,

I am looking to carry out a series of experiments investigating gaze interaction in AR during locomotion. For this research, we require a headset where it is possible to disable the built-in filtering applied to the eye tracker readings (i.e. we need the raw data). Does anyone know if this is possible using the Magic Leap 2? In particular, we’d like to use the Magic Leap Unity SDK if possible.

It would also be useful to know how the built-in gaze filtering is implemented, ideally the type of filter, the handling of saccades and the specific filter parameters if this information is available.

Thanks very much!

Hey @t.paterson,

Welcome to the Magic Leap developer forums!

We do not filter the data that comes in through the Eye Tracker API. As for understanding how the built-in gaze filtering is implemented, this information has not been made public.

Hope this information is helpful!

Best,
Corey
