# Updating Magic Leap 2 From Sofware Version 1.0 to 1.12

Hello Magic Leap Support Team,

I updated a ML2 headset that I purchased from software version 1.0 directly to 1.10. During the factory reset, an option to set a pin for the device never appeared. Do I need to update to previous software versions such as 1.2, 1.4, etc and update my way up to 1.12? I also received this message in the Magic Leap Hub
