I am currently checking the specs as a proposal to an end user who is interested in purchasing the product.

In regards to viewing pdfs, is it possible to view and control them by extracting them directly from the Folder, rather than from within Assist or Workshop?
When I tried it in my environment (OS 1.7.0), it would display but could not be moved or otherwise manipulated.

We do not provide that functionality on the OS level but you may want to check out our 3rd party solutions for a more feature rich experience:

Understood.
I suggest the user to use some kind of application since the pdf cannot be fully viewed in its default state.
