# Developer license?

hi, I am planning to buy a used ML 2 from an individual user. what specs should I look at to make sure I can use for development purposes? Can I buy the developer license separately? Sorry if my question is very basic, I am new to this hardware.

Yes you can purchase a Developer License after purchasing the unit. The license keys are the only thing that distinguishes that separate Magic Leap 2 versions. You can build application for the Magic Leap 2 regardless of the developer license.
Note: AR Cloud and Remote Render require the Developer / enterprise licenses

Thanks a lot for your response. Let's say that we want to offer the experience to guests once completed. Does ML2 version covers this usage? I am wondering as I can read "Commercial Rights" under the features of ML2.

My recommendation would be to proceed with the standard version of the Magic Leap 2 headset (as long as you do not plan to use Remote Render or AR Cloud) , and then upgrade in the future if needed.
I reached out to someone to get clarification on "Commercial Rights"

Yes, thank you for the nudge. Both the Base License and Enterprise License allow the device to be used on production environments.

I think you are referring to the part number which I do not believe is tied to the license.
The enterprise and developer pro licenses are provided separately and can be entered in the Device's settings.
